Theme in Abstract Art

Before painting abstract art, whether with a brush or digitally, do I have a theme or image in mind? Not at all.

Then, does a theme or finished image emerge while I am painting? No, not that either.

As I place various elements here and there, a sense of “This feels about right” and “Somehow, almost satisfied” gradually takes shape.

Until then, I experiment with colors, arrangements, and forms.

There is no theme there.
It simply exists.

Even if I place a word unrelated to the image, there is still no theme, and that word is not the title either.

I simply place words that came to mind separately from the image.

If there is a theme at all, it is only this:

both the textual fragments and the image simply exist there.
